“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in the bud became more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” – Anais Nin

Jennifer Catlin, M.S., C.Ht., offers Hypnosis and mindfulness  in Cary, NC – a suburb of Raleigh/Durham.

My intent in creating this space is to provide you with a comfortable, safe and non-judgmental environment to explore your unique path and inner world.  I view my role as facilitator in helping you to connect with your deepest, truest voice because I believe that you have the answers within. We all do. We just sometimes feel disconnected and lost from that voice due to conditioning and challenging life experience. It is there and I will help you to find it once again. This is not psychotherapy, though psychotherapy can be beneficial and necessary at times. This is a combination of hypnosis and mindfulness to help you achieve the goal of a behavioral shift in your life. Nobody knows your experience better than you do and I will offer you a safe space for you to process. I work with individuals who are proactive and engaged in their process and are stable/functional, but may feel a bit lost and needing some support and guidance on their paths.

We all face challenges in life.  Through my own difficulties in working with fear and the inner critic, I experienced the profound and life changing effects of hypnotherapy and mindfulness and it is my passion to share this process with others.

I greatly respect you for walking this courageous path. My sessions are interactive in nature, exploring the root cause of behavior and emotions. I will be present with you, personally guiding you through your entire hypnosis session from start to finish in a manner that is individualized to meet your specific goals. All sessions are personally guided by me (not recordings) and I will recommend resources that may assist you between sessions, several of which are no cost to you.

What I offer:

  • I encourage you to look and listen within to what resonates most for you, including what path it is that feels best to you, whether it be hypnosis or another modality that another professional may offer you. There are many methods to help with behavioral change and I do not believe one is necessarily better or worse than another, as different techniques resonate with different people. Being authentic means listening to your inner voice and and where it feels led.
  • If we work together, I will recommend various resources that I feel will assist you on your path and you will receive my mindfulness recordings for free. Some of the additional resources can be accessed for free online and others may be available at the library or for purchase through a site like Amazon. They are not required, but are frequently helpful for speeding the process up for you.

Working With Me

My approach is one that addresses the whole person in body, mind and spirit. I often combine mindfulness with hypnotherapy as an alternative and holistic modality. I strongly believe in adapting techniques to the individual, making the practices accessible in a way that best resonates with each person. Therefore, all of my work is client-centered, with the belief that each individual holds the answers needed for change within. I simply guide my clients to discover their own innate ability and wisdom. As I was guided to discover wholeness on a personal level, I realized how essential compassion and love for self is – not from a place of ego but rather, true self care. Compassion and kindness toward self are key components to my teachings and practices.

A little about my personal life

I was raised in the suburbs of Syracuse, NY and now reside in a suburb of Raleigh, NC.  I am married with children and have two cats and a dog.  I understand the delicate balance of parenting duties with other aspects of life. In my personal time when I am not spending time with my family, other interests include reading, listening to and playing music, writing, hiking, kayaking, camping, going to musical theater shows, farmer’s markets, laughing and engaging in any type of creative process.  Fresh air is a necessity in my life and without enough of it, I get a little… well,  cranky. I employ the practice of mindful living in my personal life, sometimes successfully and sometimes not. I am also a perfectly imperfect work in progress (aren’t we all?) and am continually learning my way through this experience of life.  I hold much gratitude for life and those I share it with.

I honor you in body, mind and spirit and am here as a support as you align with your life purpose and live the life you are capable of. You have much light within. It is now your time to step into your power and shine.

With Gratitude,

Jennifer
