The Insight Meditation & Mindful Living Program
The Insight Meditation & Mindful Living program consists of 8 weekly classes of 2 hours each.   This program teaches not only traditional meditation and mindfulness techniques but also how to apply and integrate those techniques into one's daily life.
The Insight Meditation & Mindful Living program includes body awareness exercises, meditation, practical mindful living exercises, class discussion and home practice. A commitment to a daily meditation practice is needed to realize the benefits of this program. Some of the topics covered during the 8 weeks include:
- Finding Time to Practice
- Meditation Attitudes and Qualities
- Working with Distractions
- Observing Pleasant and Unpleasant Experiences
- Guided Meditations on Forgiveness, Compassion and Equanimity
Some of the Insight Meditation & Mindful Living programs offer a free demonstration class before the start of the course. These free classes provide the prospective student an opportunity to learn more about the program, ask questions and try some of the meditation and mindfulness techniques that will be taught. Please check the Program Schedule for a list of these free classes and contact the sponsoring organization to reserve a seat.
At the conclusion of the program, students will receive a list of references helpful in maintaining and developing their meditation and mindfulness practice. The student may also enroll in the Continuing the Mindful Life program for additional guidance and support.
